15 Years of CIMA Research Foundation in Albania

15 Years of CIMA Research Foundation in #Albania: a partnership that continues to build resilience
From strengthening the national civil protection system to producing risk maps, from developing operational platforms to training technical staff, these fifteen years of the CIMA Research Foundation’s Tirana office have fostered a shared path of institutional, technological, and scientific growth between Italy and Albania.
Established in 2011 in the wake of the Shkodra flood, the office is now a reference point in the country for applied research, innovation, and cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction.
To mark this milestone, CIMA Research Foundation President Luca Ferraris, Director of the CIMA Albania Office Miranda Deda, Programme Director Cosimo Versace, and Associate Director Nicola Rebora were on an institutional visit to Tirana, hosted by the Albanian National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC, Agjencia Kombëtare e Mbrojtjes Civile). The visit provides an opportunity to reflect on the journey undertaken together with Albanian partners while defining new perspectives for collaboration in the years ahead.
