Sending aloha to our partners in Albania! PDC was honored to be an invited observer at the Albanian NCPA-organized “PISHË-PORO 2024 CPX” in Fier, Albania, on 2 and 3 July. We were especially proud to see how well NCPA and participants leveraged PDC’s DisasterAWARE Pro to exercise a massive wildfire scenario that involved national, prefecture, and municipal agencies, as well as Albania’s Red Cross, to simulate and coordinate response activities including firefighting, and evacuation and sheltering of more than 8,000 residents and tourists.

Also, a big mahalo (thank you!) to USFS and USAID for supporting our Balkans Early Warning Capacity Development program that has built the necessary skills, procedures, and national and local data to allow NCPA to operationally use DisasterAWARE as demonstrated over the last 2 days.
